Bursary Opportunities
The CTA is pleased to be offering two $1000 bursaries for transplant recipient youths and young adults thanks to the generous support of:
The Kimberly Stahlbaum Memorial Fund
The Logan Boulet Endowment Fund
About the Bursaries:
Kimberly Stahlbaum Memorial Youth Bursary - Age 17 & Under:
This bursary will awarded to one Canadian youth transplant recipient 17 or under (as of July 5, 2026) attending the 2026 Canadian Transplant Games in Sherbrooke.
The funds can be used for:
Travel related expenses for the applicant and/or
Registration fees or travel arrangements for an adult accompanying the applicant to the Games (example: a parent or other supporter like a sibling or grandparent)
The Logan Boulet Bursary - Age 18 - 25
This bursary will awarded to one Canadian youth transplant recipient between the ages of 18 - 25 (as of July 5, 2026) attending the 2026 Canadian Transplant Games in Sherbrooke.
The funds can be used for:
Travel related expenses for the applicant and/or registration fees or
Travel arrangements for a support person accompanying the applicant to the Games (example: a partner or other supporter like a sibling, parent or grandparent)
Application Deadline: May 8, 2026.
General Requirements:
Bursaries are open to youth and young adult transplant recipients who meet the age criteria of the bursary applied for.
Applicants must:
Applicants must:
Demonstrate an ongoing association with the Canadian Transplant community.
Contribute to raising awareness about organ donation and promoting an active lifestyle for those in the transplant community.
Have received an organ transplant or is an organ donor.
Have plans to compete at the National Transplant Games in Sherbooke, Quebec.
Be committed to giving back to their community.
Be living in Canada at the time of selection.
Applicants are asked to answer the following questions in a Word document (no minimum or maximum length) and email their responses to cta@cta-acg.ca. Please be sure to include your full name, age, mailing address, and contact information in your application.
What have you done to promote an active lifestyle for the transplant community?
How do you continue to engage with the Canadian transplant community going forward?
Have you attended a CTA event (including Canadian and World Transplant Games)? If so, please describe your experience and what you enjoyed most? If not, what are you most looking forward to?
What sport(s) do you plan to compete in for the Canadian Transplant Games in 2026?
What events or initiatives would you like to see more of from the Canadian Transplant Association?
Bursaries must be accepted as awarded. Funds are in Canadian dollars. The Canadian Transplant Association will determine the successful candidate for each bursary, by committee by May 8th and contact the successful applicants to make arrangements for payment.
The Canadian Transplant Association reserves the right to update, or modify the bursary program as required, without notice including eligibility requirements.
Please note that these bursaries are taxable (as income) and a T4A will be issued.
