Legacy Fund

After Moncton hosted one of the most successful Canadian Transplant Games in 2014 there were some remaining funds raised that stayed here in the province of NB to be utilized in support of raising awareness and supporting our transplant athletes. The Legacy Committee has worked very hard to create the criteria for funding and two application forms. The Athlete funding is currently limited to those athletes who are attending the Canadian Transplant Games only, not World Games, and are from the province of NB. But the special project funding is open to anyone, not only CTA members and from any province. An example of a special project, might be building a Christmas Parade Float that could be used in multiple cities during the holiday season to raise awareness to families on the importance of organ donation to get people talking. It could also mean putting together a booth at a health and wellness fair! The sky is the limit so if you have any questions or want to apply please contact ctanewbrunswick@txworks.ca

July 2017

Sunday, July 30th, 2017 come join the BC South Coast CTA for our Transplant Family picnic at Prospect Point in Stanley Park noon-4pm.  We will be joining forces with the Transplant Research Foundation (TRF), Children’s Organ Transplant Society (COTS) and BC Transplant to have a fun day of games, bouncy castle, face painting, treats and maybe even go for a walk in the park to enjoy the beautiful Stanley Park.  The annual three mountain bike ride with proceeds going to the Addison Transplant Research Foundation will finish their ride at the picnic so come support the riders.  If you would like to volunteer contact Margaret Benson the BC CTA representative.  (ctabc@txworks.ca)

2018

2018 we hope to see the Transplant Trot return to the Vancouver South Coast region with new coordinators and the Kamloops and Lake Country regions hope to host Transplant Trots as well.  If you wish to volunteer for any of these events contact ctabc@txworks.ca

If you wish to attend meetings in the Vancouver South Coast region they are held every two months on Mondays or Wednesdays agreed upon by the executive. Contact Margaret Benson for more information and Kamloops’ contacts are Kennedie Maidment (kennedie.maidment@gmail.com) and Matt Lepp (matt.lepp@gmail.com).
