The awards highlight the volunteer work of Janet and Heather in promoting organ and tissue donation and the 2005 World Transplant Games.

In January 2003, Janet Brady and Heather Fisher became recipients of the Queen's Golden Jubilee Medal in "honour of exemplary contributions to make London a better community and for significant achievement and service to the community." At a ceremony held in London, Ontario, the Honourable Diane Cunningham presented the awards highlighting the volunteer work of Janet and Heather in promoting organ and tissue donation and the 2005 World Transplant Games.

Note: The late Ambrose Churko (Regional Director of Saskatchewan) was also a recipient of this cherished award for his work with the Kidney Foundation of Canada.
