WE NEED YOUR HELP!
Since 2000, the Canadian Transplant Games have been the largest organ and tissue donation awareness event in the country. While much of the focus is on the athletic competitions, some of our biggest heroes are our dedicated volunteers. The CTG is powered by a strong network of committed volunteers.
Whether you have a few hours available, or the entire six days of the Games, we need your help. We are still developing the full roles and responsibilities of all the volunteer positions that need to be filled, but here is an overview:
- Sporting Events - Bowling, Cycling, Tennis, Badminton, Swimming, Golf, Lawn Bowling, Table Tennis, Track and Field, Road Race. Individuals volunteering in this area, depending on their expertise in the sport, may be involved in officiating, capturing stats, helping to set up the sporting venue, acting as a resource to the athletes with information about their venue, transportation and other pertinent details.
- Special Events - Opening Ceremony, VIP Event, Donor Family Event, Gala Dinner, Children's Program, East vs. Central vs. West Challenge. Each of the special events will require individuals to help set up, assist with delivery of activities, answer questions of attendees and provide other support as necessary.
- Athlete Services - There are a wide range of services that need to be delivered to support the athletes’ and other attendees’ enjoyment and success during the games. This includes: coordinating registration, accommodation, transportation, meals (contracts are already in place for the delivery of these services but they need to be overseen), meet and greet athletes at the airport, provide game packages, act as a daily resource to answer attendees questions regarding events taking place.
- Medical Services - Coordinate and support medical services for events.
There is a position for everyone’s interest and expertise. If you are interested in volunteering to support the success of the 2018 Canadian Transplant Games, please send an email to our Volunteer Lead at firstname.lastname@example.org.
